There are two primary reasons for a dress code. The first is to ensure modesty; the second is to encourage a dignity that is appropriate for the school setting. The dress code of DPEC impacts our school environment every day. The appearance of our students communicates the Christ Centre focus of our school and should be a valuable testimony in establishing our reputation as an outstanding school with superior students on appropriate school dress. A well-groomed, attractive student should come to the school with and attitude that prepares him/her for neat and conscientious work. His attire should convey respect for himself, his fellow students and his tutors.
School dress should reflect the fact that students are in school for the purpose of education not recreation. Parents and students are reminded that items of clothing and adornment which may be appropriate in social settings are not always appropriate for school DPEC is an academic institution; therefore, students need to dress accordingly. The way one dresses can have a significant effect upon the attitude of the students and the atmosphere of the classroom.
DPEC has recommended wears for all events and activities in the school and it is compulsory for all students to comply accordingly. Any clothing item distracting the learning environment will be confiscated, or result in the student being sent home to dress properly.
